Hi Craig, yesterday's launch day of 'Winter', the second in the series, must have been an exciting day for you. I hope that you and your family are safe and well. Because of the lockdown, I am getting lots of writing done and I am sure you are too. What made you want to write a book?

"I had not intended to write a book, but the chance came when I least expected it… I wrote the prologue over a coffee, on my mobile, in a café of my home town of Chesterfield. I was feeling a bit low, as I’d just broken my finger (a story for another time) and was reduced to using one hand. There wasn’t much point in buying the new keyboard I wanted…

The initial idea was just to create the blank canvas for a potential story; I had no idea where it would go. It soon became apparent though, that I couldn’t write what was developing on a mobile – I needed a PC. I had lost my work one when I was laid off. Within the first few chapters, I had decided on the story structure and the genres it would touch on – there are several – but that is secondary to the plot and characters involved. What made them who they are – and why they do what they do. ‘Less is more’ is my guiding light for all matters involving creative work.

Palimpsest, and now Winter, are the first two books in the MDS series. MDS stands for Multi Dimensional State. In Palimpsest, from an apparent everyday scenario, the central character is thrown into a situation where they have to deal with the extraordinary implications of inadvertently accessing the Multiverse highway – the route to accessing the infinite universes that coexist with our own. She is introduced to unfamiliar and familiar individuals, possessing potent abilities, the hidden dangers that involves, their malicious objectives, and the implications of accessing this reality.

In 'Winter', the story develops further into the realms of the true implications of the multiverse.

My current WIP is the first in a different series – the Caretaker Chronicles – which is scheduled for release next year. This will appeal to those with an interest in alien intervention, with a twist.

Initially I was relying on my website – craigherdern.com – and twitter @CraigHerdern for promotion. I am now utilising the excellent team at PublishingPush.com

Palimpsest can be obtained from Amazon, Smashwords, Apple books, Barnes & Noble, Scribd, Kobo, Overdrive, Baker & Taylor Axis 360, Tolino, Gardners and all others distributed by Smashwords distribution network.

You can get a copy of my books here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?i=digital-text&rh=p_27%3ACraig+Herdern&s=relevancerank&text=Craig+Herdern&ref=dp_byline_sr_ebooks_1 "

Thanks Craig for being my guest today, I am sure that there are lots of readers out there with time on their hands at the moment and I am sure that they will enjoy your exciting series.

All the best

Natasha :)
